Repair the World Miami, in partnership with The Tribe, Miami Jews, and Moishe House Miami  is excited to present:

Cocktails with a Conscience – a social justice happy hour series.

Have a great time with friends while also learning about needs in our community, and ways to work together towards real change. This first “Cocktails” is in community partnership with Miami Children’s Initiative.

Miami Children’s Initiative (MCI) is a nonprofit organization focused on breaking the cycle of poverty in Liberty City. MCI seeks to create a community-based network that develops, coordinates and provides quality education, accessible health care, youth development programs, health and nutrition support, opportunities for employment and safe neighborhoods for the children and families in Liberty City.

We will be joined by some of the child advocates working in these schools. We will learn about their experiences and find out ways we can be a constructive part of this community.

We encourage our Repairers to bring business professional clothing with them to donate to the MCI Community Closet. The Community Closet is a resource for community members in Liberty City to access interview and job appropriate clothing. These can be new/gently used shirts, blouses, pants, trousers, skirts, dresses, suits, ties, shoes, etc.

To come to this event we are asking that people either purchase a ticket for $10 and/or bring an item of clothing to donate to the community closet. Entry will include a drink on us!
